Route : Delhi-Dibrugarh-Majuli-Jorhat-Kaziranga-Bhalukpong-Dirang-Tawang-Bomdila-Nameri-Guwahati-Delhi

An exhilarating ride through the North Eastern state of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh that starts in the plains of Dibrugarh and takes you in a spectacular drive through Bhalukpong, Tipi, Bomdila, picturesque Tenga valley and Sela Pass leading to Tawng at 3,048m. It is a long journey where the scenery never ceases to amaze you. Nature unfolds its choicest gems at every curve of this unforgettable journey. After crossing Bomdila, the road trip turns into a Himalayan adventure with increasingly cold temperatures, frequent hairpin bends on the road, high altitude scenery and change in atmosphere due to the sharp increase in altitude on the way to reaching the Sela Pass (4144m), the highest motorable road in north-east India. 
Tawang is the home of the Mopa tribes and India’s largest, most revered and spectacular monastery.  
This is a journey where the combination of scenery, culture, wildlife and adventure never ceases to amaze with a kaleidoscope of color, flavors, thrill and serenity.

Brief Itinerary

Day 1 – Delhi-Dibrugarh-Dihing

  • Fly to Dibrugarh
  • Transfer to Dihing by road (30 km / 1 hr)
  • Afternoon village visit followed by Assamese traditional dinner
  • Overnight at Dihing

Day 2 – Dibrugarh-Nematighat-Majuli Island

  • Transfer to Nematighat
  • Transfer to Majuli Island by ferry over Bramhaputra river
  • Afternoon boat ride to enjoy the sunrise on Brahmaputra.
  • Overnight at Majuli

Day 3– Majuli

  • At Majuli explore the Satras, Mask painters' studios, potters' village and Mishing tribal village.
  • Overnight in Majuli

Day 4 – Majuli-Nematighat-Jorhat

  • Transfer to Nematighat by Ferry
  • Transfer to Jorhat Tea Bungalow (70 km / 2.5 hrs)
  • Overnight in Jorhta

Day 5 – Jorhat-Holongapar-Kaziranga

  • Morning visit to Holongapar Gibbon Sanctuary
  • After lunch drive to Kaziranga (120km / 3 hrs)
  • Overnight in Kaziranga

Day 6 – Kaziranga National Park

  • Morning elephant safari and  Jeep Safari in Kaziranga National Park
  • Return to hotel for lunch
  • Afternoon  Jeep Safari in Kaziranga National Park
  • Overnight in Kaziranga

Day 7 – Kaziranga-Bhalukpong

  • Morning Jeep Safari in Kaziranga National Park
  • After breakfast, transfer to Bhalukpong (107 km / 3 hrs)
  • Overnight in Bhalukpong

Day 8 – Bhalukpong-Dirang

  • Transfer to Dirang (150 km / 5 hrs), on the way visit Tippi Orchid Sanctuary
  • Overnight in HACRA

Day 9 – Dirang-Tawang

  • Morning visit to Kalachakra monastery and Dirang Zong and travel to Tawang.
  • Travel for about 7/8 hours to Tawang across the second highest motorable pass 'Sella'(4144m). Photo stop at the mammoth Jung water falls which comes on the way.  
  • Overnight in Tawang

Day 10 – Tawang

  • Tawang is the land of the Monpa Tribes, who follow the Gelupa Sect of the Mahayana School of Buddhism. It is the birthplace of the sixth Dalai Lama Tsangyang  Gyasto and is known as “The Land of The Lamas” and is surrounded by ancient Buddhist monasteries and beautiful lakes. Tawang Monastery is about 400 years old, situated at an altitude of approximately 3048m is the second largest Buddhist monastery in India.  and houses some rarest Buddhist scripts, artifacts and Thangkas. Visit to War Memorial, Craft Emporium and local market.

Day 11 – Tawang-Bomdila

  • Transfer to Bomdila (170 km / 7 hrs)
  • Afternoon visit the local market and Buddhist monastery
  • Overnight in Bomdila

Day 12 – Bomdila-Balipara

  • Transfer to Balipara tea estate (130 km / 4 hrs)
  • Overnight in Balipara

​​Day 13 – Balipara - Guwahati

  • Transfer to Guwahati ( 150 km / 4 hrs)
  • Afternoon visit Umananda and Kamakhya temple
  • Overnight in Guwahati

Day 14 – Guwahati-Delhi

  • Transfer to Guwahati Airport
  • Fly to Delhi
