India : Covid 19 Update – 5th April 2021

With the second wave of infections hitting India, many states in India are again restricting movement through announcement of night curfews, while some are going into lockdown mode. Here’s a ready reckoner of what to expect where :


On 16th Jan 2021 , India embarked on the world’s greatest Covid 19 vaccination drive to stop the pandemic.

- India was experiencing 95000+ daily infection detection in the month of September

- Dince 20th September in a  turnaround the new cases had reduce to about 12,000 in the months of January & February 2021.

- In March there has been a dramatic upsurge again as has the rest of the world with daily new cases increasing.

- On 22nd March 46,951 new cases has been detected.

- On 30th March 56,211 new cases has been detected.

- 0n 4th April India crossed the 100,000 ( 103,558) daily cases for the first time.

  • Total Recovered :11.68 million
  • Total Deaths : 0.165 million
  • 4% Death : 1.3 %
  • % Recovery rate : 92.8 %

Domestic Travel

Domestic travel is opening up cautiously & gradually with flight numbers increasing gradually.

We are monitoring the emerging scenarios and the unfolding COVID guidelines being issued by the Government of India. Rules and regulations are changing frequently. Please be assured that we will advise you correctly on the travel possibilities and steps that need to be adhered to stay safe.

International travel

India now has air bubble arrangements with 15 countries including the US, UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Kenya, Canada, Iraq, Japan, Maldives, Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, Qatar, Oman,  Ukraine and UAE.

For other countries international travel has been prohibited under Ministry of home affairs' orders till further notice.
